Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy explains what eranewsgulf.com collects when you read the site, why, and what you can do about it. The site is published by Era News Network. You can reach us at eranewsofficial@gmail.com.
1The short version
- You can read the site without giving us your name or creating an account.
- We measure how our pages are read using our own analytics — not a third-party tracking network.
- We do not store your IP address, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
2What we collect when you read the site
Our analytics run on our own servers. For each visit they record:
- the pages you open, when, in what order, how long you stay and how far you scroll;
- the page or search that sent you to us, and any campaign tag in the link you followed;
- your device type, browser, operating system and language;
- your approximate location — country, and in some cases region or city — worked out from your connection.
They do not record your IP address, your name, your email address, or anything you type.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period for security and to diagnose faults.
3Cookies and storage
The site sets these:
- era_visitor_id — a random identifier, kept for up to 400 days, so that repeat visits can be counted as one reader rather than many. It carries no personal detail. A copy is kept in your browser's local storage in case the cookie is cleared.
- Session and security cookies — set only when someone signs in to the newsroom's own tools. They expire when the browser is closed.
You can delete or block these in your browser settings at any time. The site works normally without them; our counts simply treat you as a new reader each visit.
4Google services
We use Google services for parts of the site — among them Google Search Console, and Google's Reader Revenue Manager where reader contributions or subscriptions are offered. Where advertising is shown, it is served by Google.
These services set their own cookies and may use them to measure and personalise what you see. What Google collects and how it is used is governed by Google's own policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can control personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com.
If you make a payment, it is handled by the payment provider named at the point of payment. We never see or store your card details.
5When you contact us or take part
If you write to us, send a story or a tip, or are invited to take part in one of our programmes or podcasts, we keep what you give us — typically your name, your organisation, your email address and phone number, and anything you send — so that we can reply and make the arrangements. Where we record an interview, we ask for your permission first and keep a record of it.
We use those details for that purpose only. We do not add you to marketing lists without your asking.
6How long we keep things
- Analytics are kept in aggregate for reporting; the detailed records behind them are kept no longer than we need them.
- Server logs are kept for a short period, then discarded.
- Correspondence is kept while it is useful to the matter it concerns.
7Who else sees your data
Our hosting provider, which runs the servers for us, and the Google services above. We may disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
8Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Write to eranewsofficial@gmail.com and we will respond.
Where material has been published as journalism, we may not be able to remove it — reporting carries its own public-interest protections — but we will always consider a request and explain our decision.
9Children
This site is a general news site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will remove it.
10Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to the newsroom's own tools is restricted to named accounts, and what we store is kept on servers we control. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will say so.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
