Dubai Police support Marwa's husband and sister with employment after her death during childbirth.

Dubai Police Provide Jobs to Family of Sudanese Woman Who Died Giving Birth

Dubai Police have extended support to the family of Marwa, a Sudanese woman who recently passed away while giving birth to twins. The police force has offered employment to her husband and sister following the loss of Marwa, who was the family's primary income earner.

Marwa had been employed at the Dubai Police Health Centre since May 2016. After her death, the family faced financial difficulties, compounded by the expiration of the lease on their home in Ajman. The newborn twins are currently cared for by Marwa's eldest sister, a mother of five living in Abu Dhabi, who now looks after seven children in total.

Dubai Police have maintained contact with the family, providing ongoing emotional and social support as they navigate this challenging period.

Longstanding Connection with Dubai Police

The family's association with Dubai Police dates back to 1983 when Marwa's father, Sergeant Ahmed Al Amin Bakhit, joined the General Department of Criminal Investigation. He served until his death in 1992 during a family holiday in his home country, leaving behind his wife and three young daughters.

Following his passing, Dubai Police employed his widow to help sustain the family and maintain their link to the organization. When she later became ill, the police supported her medical treatment abroad. She passed away in March 2016.

Two months after her mother's death, Marwa joined the Dubai Police Health Centre, taking on the responsibility of supporting her family. That year, the family also received financial aid from the social solidarity fund.

Authorities described Marwa as a committed and conscientious employee who balanced her professional duties with family responsibilities.

After Marwa's recent death, Dubai Police have once again stepped in to assist, offering jobs to her husband and younger sister to help the family move forward.

Community Support at Funeral

Marwa's funeral, held on September 25 at Al Qusais Cemetery Mosque in Dubai, was attended by hundreds of people from across the UAE. The large turnout followed a social media call to support the grieving family, with some mourners praying outside the mosque due to the crowd size.

A friend of Marwa's noted the widespread support, saying the community's response made it feel as though the entire UAE had become her family.
