Etihad Restarts Abu Dhabi-Jeddah Flights, Riyadh and Dammam Routes Remain Suspended

Etihad Airways has reinstated its daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Jeddah starting November 6. However, flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Riyadh and Dammam are still suspended and will remain so until November 19 due to ongoing regional disturbances.

The airline's recent travel update specifies that all Abu Dhabi flights to Riyadh and Dammam will not operate through November 19. Meanwhile, select flights between Abu Dhabi and Jeddah are scheduled to resume on November 6, including flights EY601 and EY603 from Abu Dhabi to Jeddah, and EY602 and EY604 from Jeddah to Abu Dhabi. Other flights on this route will continue as planned.

Etihad cautioned that the situation is fluid and flight schedules may be subject to further changes. Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight status on the airline's official website before departure. The airline also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and stated that support teams are assisting travelers affected by the disruptions.

Similarly, flydubai has resumed some of its Saudi Arabia flights after cancellations. Its website indicates that flights from Dubai to Jeddah are available from November 6, to Dammam from November 10, and to Abha and Riyadh from November 17. Previously, flydubai had cancelled all flights to Abha, Dammam, and Riyadh up to November 5.

A flydubai spokesperson noted that due to the ongoing situation, flight disruptions to Saudi Arabia are expected. All flights to Abha and Riyadh remain cancelled through November 16. The airline continues to monitor developments closely and will update customers via official channels. Passengers are advised to regularly check flight statuses and keep their contact information current to receive updates.

These cancellations and suspensions followed attacks on Saudi airports by the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group. Notably, a missile strike on Riyadh's international airport on October 10 resulted in 14 fatalities and over 300 injuries.
