Man Arrested in Bengaluru for Killing Wife and Six Relatives Over Domestic Dispute
A 45-year-old man in Bengaluru was arrested for murdering his wife and six family members, including a child, over a domestic conflict.
Authorities in Bengaluru have detained a 45-year-old man accused of killing seven people, including his wife and six relatives, amid a family dispute. The suspect, identified as Indushekhar, reportedly committed the murders over a period of 15 to 20 days and concealed the bodies at various sites in the Chikkaballapur district near Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Police initiated the investigation after a relative reported several individuals missing. During the inquiry, officers recovered the body of a seven-year-old boy from a hilly area and uncovered the extent of the killings. A team comprising four inspectors, two assistant commissioners, and 50 personnel conducted the investigation.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh stated that the suspect confessed to killing seven people within the stated timeframe, with assistance from his minor daughter in concealing the bodies. Singh described the case as a "very, very serious offence" and noted that authorities are examining all aspects of the incident.
The victims included Indushekhar's wife Sunita, his mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, their wives, and the seven-year-old nephew. The couple had been married for approximately 20 years, and preliminary findings indicate ongoing tensions related to Sunita's visits to her parental home.
According to the investigation, Indushekhar first killed his wife using a grinding stone, wrapped her body in cloth, and left it near Nandi Hills. He then turned off her mobile phone and misled neighbors by claiming she had gone on a trip. Subsequently, he allegedly murdered the other family members one by one at his residence and disposed of their bodies at different locations.
Police are verifying the suspect's account of the killings and coordinating with district authorities to locate the remaining bodies, as six have not yet been recovered. Investigators also found that Indushekhar used chemicals to clean his home and remove blood traces in an attempt to destroy evidence.
The police have registered a murder case and are focused on recovering all the victims' bodies. The suspect is cooperating by indicating the locations where the bodies were disposed of, and the investigation remains active.
