Dubai Ride 2026: Registration, Routes, and Event Details Announced
Dubai Ride 2026 will take place on Sheikh Zayed Road with mandatory registration and two cycling routes for all ages.
Dubai Ride 2026 is set to take place on Sunday, November 1, transforming Sheikh Zayed Road into a cycling track as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge opening weekend. The event offers two routes catering to different skill levels and is free to participate in, but registration is mandatory.
Participants must register online ahead of the event to secure their place and obtain a bib number, which is required to take part. Adults need to register individually, while parents or legal guardians can register up to three children, accepting a waiver for minors. Registration should be completed promptly, as on-the-day sign-ups will not be accepted.
Bib numbers can be collected at the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village located at Zabeel Park, Gate 2, until Saturday, October 31. Collection hours are from 8am to 11pm. Participants should bring their registration QR code or email confirmation, and someone else may collect the bib on their behalf if they have the QR code. Those who ordered an event T-shirt during registration can also pick it up at this time.
The event will begin at 6am, with cycling routes opening at 6:15am. All riders must start by 7:30am, and the routes will close at 8am. Organisers recommend arriving between 4am and 6am, especially for those driving, as roads near the routes will be closed early.
There are two cycling routes available: a 12km route on Sheikh Zayed Road designed for experienced cyclists, passing landmarks such as the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, and Burj Khalifa, with five designated start points; and a 4km Downtown Family Route, a flatter loop around Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and Burj Khalifa, suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. The event is not a race, and riders must adhere to a 25km/h speed limit, finishing at the gate corresponding to their starting point.
Public transport is available, with Dubai Metro starting operations at 3am on event day to assist participants. However, bicycles are not permitted on the Metro, so cyclists will need to arrange alternative transport for their bikes to the start area. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) advises Metro users to have at least Dh30 on their Nol cards.
For those driving, parking is available at Dubai World Trade Centre Parking, Dubai Mall Parking, and Dubai Mall Zabeel Parking. Parking spaces are limited, so early arrival and adherence to signage and staff directions are recommended.
Participants must bring a fully functional bicycle, a helmet, and their bib number. Helmets are compulsory for all riders, including children in bike seats or trailers. Organisers also suggest bringing the Dubai Ride T-shirt and a filled water bottle. Large bags are prohibited, and there will be no facilities for bag storage or changing. Riders should wear closed sports shoes and comfortable clothing, as temperatures may be cool before sunrise but will rise quickly.
Permitted bicycles include pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandem bikes, children’s bikes, and trailers, provided they are safe for the route. Electric scooters, motorbikes, and other motorised vehicles are not allowed. Support services such as bike mechanics, marshals, medical teams, and water stations will be available along the routes.
