Dubai sits on the Gulf coast at roughly 25.2 degrees north, near the middle of the seven emirates. That central position is why its timings track Sharjah and Ajman almost exactly, while Abu Dhabi further west runs a little later and Fujairah on the opposite coast a little earlier.

Today Maghrib in Dubai falls 4 minutes after Fujairah, the first place in the country to see sunset, and 3 minutes before Abu Dhabi, the last. The whole country is separated by only 7 minutes.

The city's best known mosques include Jumeirah Mosque, one of the few in the country open to non-Muslim visitors, the Grand Bur Dubai Masjid beside the creek, and Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque in Al Safa. Neighbourhood masjids across Deira, Karama and Al Quoz call the adhan within a minute or two of the times listed here.

In Ramadan the Maghrib time above is iftar time in Dubai, and Fajr closes suhoor. Jummah is prayed at Dhuhr on Friday, with the khutbah usually starting around twenty minutes before — worth allowing for at the larger mosques, which fill well ahead of the iqamah.
