Etihad Rail Begins Ticket Sales for Dubai to Abu Dhabi Route Launching September 30

Etihad Rail has opened ticket sales for its new passenger service connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi, set to begin operations on September 30, 2026. Travelers can book tickets through the Etihad Rail website or mobile app.

The Dubai station, named Al Yalayis Station, will officially open alongside Al Dhaid Station in Sharjah on the same date. Located in Jumeirah Golf Estates near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), the station will serve nearby communities such as Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, and Dubai South.

Ticket prices for the route start at Dh39 for Comfort Class and Dh109 for Premium Class. The first train from Dubai to Abu Dhabi departs at 6:15 a.m., with four additional trips available throughout the day. The journey is expected to take one hour and four minutes.

Passengers traveling from Dubai to Fujairah currently have one service option, with a trip duration of approximately one hour and ten minutes.

Comfort Class passengers will benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, and access to a food and beverage trolley service. Premium Class offers wider reclining seats, extra legroom, complimentary refreshments and snacks, and a quieter cabin environment.

Travelers can select from Saver, Value, and Flex ticket options. The Saver option automatically assigns seats, does not permit changes, and is non-refundable.

Plans are underway for a second Etihad Rail station in Meydan, which will connect with the future Dubai Metro Gold Line expected to be completed by 2032. Additionally, a pedestrian bridge is being constructed to link Al Yalayis Station with the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on Dubai Metro's Red Line, facilitating transfers between the national rail network and the city's urban transport system.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has confirmed that the Nol card system will be integrated with Etihad Rail, allowing passengers to use a single card across metro, bus, taxi, and rail services.

Etihad Rail's first passenger service commenced on June 30, 2026, with the inaugural train departing Fujairah Station at 5:34 a.m. and arriving at Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi at 7:19 a.m. Covering approximately 250 kilometers in about one hour and 45 minutes, the train arrived ahead of schedule. Prior to this launch, over 10,000 tickets had been sold, and six passenger services were scheduled for the first day of operations.
