Partial Reopening of Al Taawun Interchange Eases Dubai-Sharjah Traffic
The initial phase of Al Taawun Interchange opens, improving traffic flow between Dubai and Sharjah.
Traffic between Dubai and Sharjah is expected to improve following the partial reopening of the Al Taawun Interchange on November 4. This marks the first phase of a significant road development initiative aimed at easing congestion on this busy route.
The reopening coincides with the start of the Sharjah International Book Fair, providing better access for visitors traveling to the Expo Centre Sharjah. A one-way route from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road towards the Expo Centre is now operational, facilitating smoother transit.
The partial opening was inaugurated by Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Along with the interchange, several bridges and junctions have also been made accessible as part of this phase, contributing to the overall enhancement of the road network between the two emirates.
