Sharjah Police Arrest Man in Connection with Murder of Two Kazakh Sisters

Sharjah Police have apprehended a Kazakh national suspected of murdering two Kazakh sisters inside a residential apartment. The arrest followed an intensive investigation that quickly identified and located the suspect.

The two sisters, aged 20 and 22, had been living and working in the UAE for less than a year. They arrived in Dubai in December 2025 to work at a beauty salon and resided in Sharjah. The sisters were reportedly planning a visit to Kazakhstan in early September to see their family.

Contact with the sisters was lost around August 17, prompting their relatives to reach out to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai after several days without communication. A missing-person report was then filed with Sharjah Police, who conducted a search that led to the discovery of the sisters' bodies in their apartment.

Their bodies were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28, with Sharjah Police coordinating with Kazakh authorities to facilitate the process. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the deaths and stated that its Consulate General in Dubai is providing consular and legal support to the family.

Investigation and Arrest

Following the report of a suspected crime, teams from the General Department of Criminal Security and Ports launched a thorough investigation. This included examining the crime scene, collecting evidence, and analyzing data using modern technologies to cross-reference information.

These measures enabled investigators to uncover the details of the case, identify the suspect, and determine his whereabouts, leading to his swift arrest.

Brigadier Dr Khalifa Al Balhaj, Director of the Criminal Investigations and Investigations Directorate at Sharjah Police, stated that the suspect was personally known to the sisters and that disputes between them culminated in the crime. He emphasized that rapid response, coordination among security teams, and meticulous fieldwork were key to resolving the case and apprehending the suspect.

The suspect confessed to the crime when confronted with the evidence. Legal procedures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
