Two Kazakh Sisters Found Dead in Sharjah Apartment, Police Confirm
Sharjah Police confirmed the deaths of two Kazakh sisters found in an apartment after being reported missing.
Sharjah Police have confirmed the deaths of two Kazakh sisters, aged 20 and 22, who were discovered in an apartment in the emirate following a missing persons report. The sisters had been living and working in the UAE for less than a year.
Prior to the discovery, a message circulated on WhatsApp stating that the sisters had gone missing. The message indicated they had been in contact with a Russian-speaking Kazakh man who was providing them accommodation. It also mentioned that both women had deleted their social media accounts and were unreachable via phone or WhatsApp.
Following the missing persons report, Sharjah Police initiated a search that led to the sisters being found deceased in the apartment. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Authorities have stated that a formal statement with further details will be released once the investigation concludes.
The sisters' bodies were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28, with Sharjah Police collaborating with Kazakh authorities to facilitate the process.
Kazakh Authorities' Response
The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the sisters' deaths, according to reports from Kazakh news agency Kazinform. The Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai is providing the family with consular and legal assistance, including help with documentation and coordination with UAE authorities regarding the case.
Reports from Kazakh media indicate the sisters arrived in Dubai in December 2025 to work at a beauty salon and had been residing in Sharjah since then. They were reportedly planning to visit their families in Kazakhstan in early September.
The sisters ceased responding to messages on August 17. After several days without contact, their family reached out to the Kazakh Consulate in Dubai, prompting Sharjah Police to begin their search, which ultimately led to the discovery.
Efforts to obtain further information from the Consulate General of Kazakhstan are ongoing.
