UAE to experience rain and strong winds from September 3 to 7
The UAE will see rainfall and gusty winds in some areas from September 3 to 7, with possible El Niño effects this winter.
The United Arab Emirates is set to experience rainy weather accompanied by strong winds in certain regions between September 3 and September 7, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM has indicated that the country is entering a phase of changing weather patterns. Southerly winds are expected to bring dust and reduce visibility initially, followed by north-westerly winds that will cause temperatures to drop noticeably.
Looking beyond the immediate forecast, the NCM has also highlighted the potential impact of El Niño conditions during the upcoming winter season. Their seasonal outlook suggests that El Niño may persist through the end of 2026.

- Thursday, September 3: Morning humidity is expected along some coastal and inland areas, with a chance of fog or mist. The day will be mostly fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds likely to develop in eastern and southern areas, bringing rainfall. Winds will range from light to strong southeasterly to northwesterly, reaching speeds up to 55 km/h and causing blowing dust and sand. The Arabian Gulf will have rough seas in the west, becoming moderate to slight by morning, while the Oman Sea will be rough, easing to moderate to slight by noon. Coastal temperatures will range from 38ºC to 42ºC during the day and 27ºC to 34ºC at night. Interior areas will see highs between 42ºC and 46ºC and lows from 25ºC to 32ºC. Mountain regions will experience highs of 29ºC to 37ºC and lows of 25ºC to 31ºC.
- Friday, September 4: Humidity and possible fog or mist will persist in the morning over some coastal zones. Weather conditions will be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds and potential rainfall in eastern and southern parts by afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly, occasionally freshening and reaching up to 40 km/h, causing blowing dust. Sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea. Temperatures along the coast will range from 38ºC to 42ºC during the day and 27ºC to 34ºC at night. Interior highs will be between 42ºC and 46ºC with lows from 25ºC to 32ºC. Mountain areas will have highs of 29ºC to 37ºC and lows of 25ºC to 31ºC.

Coastal temperatures will range from 40ºC to 43ºC during the day and 29ºC to 35ºC at night. Interior highs will be between 43ºC and 48ºC with lows from 26ºC to 34ºC. Mountain regions will see highs of 31ºC to 38ºC and lows of 27ºC to 32ºC.
