UAE Records 50°C Temperature Despite Suhail Star's Appearance
UAE hit 50°C on August 29, days after Suhail star's rise, with experts cautioning gradual cooling ahead.
The United Arab Emirates experienced a temperature of 50°C on August 29 at 2:30 pm in Bada Dafas, located in the Al Dhafra region. This was the highest temperature recorded in the country that day and just about one degree below the year's peak temperature.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) had forecasted hot weather across the UAE, anticipating temperatures up to 49°C in areas such as Mezaira. This extreme heat occurred shortly after the Suhail star appeared on August 24, an event traditionally associated with the onset of cooler weather.
Despite the cultural significance of the Suhail star signaling a temperature drop, experts in the UAE have cautioned that the cooling process will not happen immediately. They noted that while temperatures are expected to decrease gradually, increased humidity levels may cause the weather to feel more uncomfortable during this transition period.
