Operations Halted at Abu Dhabi's Borouge Factory Following Multiple Fires

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have suspended operations at the Borouge Petrochemicals Factory after multiple fires erupted due to debris resulting from a successful air defence interception.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed that no injuries have been reported so far and stated that updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

The decision to halt factory activities was made immediately to allow for a thorough assessment of the damage caused by the fires. Officials have urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to refrain from sharing unverified reports.

This event follows a similar incident on April 3, when operations at the Habshan gas facilities were temporarily stopped after a fire broke out, also triggered by debris from successful air defence interceptions. That incident resulted in the death of one Egyptian national and minor injuries to four others, including two Egyptians and two Pakistanis.

On the same day, authorities responded to falling debris in the Ajban area following another interception.
