Saudi Arabia Introduces New Hajj Package for International Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia has unveiled a new comprehensive Hajj package designed for foreign pilgrims, integrating key services into a single electronic contract via the "electronic path" platform. This initiative aims to streamline the pilgrimage experience from arrival through departure.

The package encompasses four primary service categories: holy sites services, hospitality arrangements in Makkah and Madinah, transportation, and catering. Additionally, optional enrichment services are available to enhance the pilgrims' experience. The Saudi news agency highlighted that this package allows foreign Hajj affairs offices and agencies to tailor programs to various pilgrim groups within a transparent and adaptable contractual framework.

The Saudi Ministry confirmed that this launch is part of early preparations for the upcoming 1448 AH Hajj season, corresponding to the year 2027.

Hajj Dates and Registration Details

Hajj is observed annually between the 8th and 13th days of Dhul Hijjah in the Islamic lunar calendar, causing the corresponding Gregorian dates to shift each year based on moon sighting.

For UAE citizens intending to perform Hajj next year, registration was open from September 14 to September 25, as announced by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat. Pilgrim selection will be conducted through an automated screening process based on approved criteria and requirements.

The screening is expected to conclude by October 9, when the list of approved pilgrims will be published and successful applicants will be contacted to complete the necessary arrangements.

Health Measures for Pilgrims

In related developments, the UAE has included Hajj and Umrah travelers among priority groups for the 2026–27 seasonal influenza vaccination campaign. Health authorities have already distributed vaccines across healthcare facilities to support this effort.
