Dubai to Launch Nol-Jaywan Card Pilot in November 2026 with Expanded Features
Dubai's new Nol-Jaywan card will integrate transport and digital payments, starting pilot phase in November 2026.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the upcoming introduction of the Nol-Jaywan card, a next-generation payment card that combines public transport access with broader digital payment capabilities. The rollout will begin with a pilot phase in November 2026.
The new card merges the existing Nol system, used primarily for transport payments, with Jaywan, the UAE's national card payment scheme. This integration aims to provide residents and visitors with a unified payment solution for multiple services.
Key Features of the Nol-Jaywan Card
- Unified Payment for Transport and Daily Services: The card will allow users to pay for public transport journeys while also enabling wider digital payments through Jaywan's network.
- Coverage of Transport Modes and Parking: Initially, the card will be accepted across RTA's public transport services, including buses and metro, as well as taxis and public parking facilities. This phased introduction is part of an overall upgrade to Dubai's Nol system.
- Account-Based Ticketing Technology: The system upgrade incorporates account-based ticketing, designed to unify various transport services and streamline the payment experience.
- Smartphone Activation and Management: Users will have the option to activate and manage their cards via Android and iOS smartphones, enhancing accessibility and convenience.
- Nationwide Transport Access: Beyond Dubai, the card will support public and private transport services across the UAE, including usage through online booking platforms, facilitating seamless travel across the country.
- Exclusive Offers and Discounts: Cardholders will gain access to over 120 promotional offers and discounts, extending benefits beyond transportation to everyday services.
The RTA has not yet disclosed details regarding the card's pricing, the process for existing Nol cardholders, or the timeline for broader public availability following the pilot phase.
