No Rain Expected in UAE on Diwali; Warm Weather Forecasted

As the UAE prepares to celebrate Diwali, the National Centre of Meteorology has predicted warm and mostly clear weather conditions on Sunday, the day of the festival.

Following a week marked by occasional showers and hail in various parts of the country, residents can expect fair to partly cloudy skies during Diwali. Some cloud cover is anticipated over northern and eastern regions, but there is no forecast for rainfall.

Winds will blow from the southeast to northeast at speeds ranging between 10 and 25 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 35 km/h. These light to moderate breezes will contribute to a comfortable outdoor atmosphere.

Temperature highs across the UAE will reach up to 38ºC, with Abu Dhabi expected to peak at 35ºC, and Dubai and Sharjah both reaching 36ºC. Nighttime lows will drop to 24ºC in Sharjah, 25ºC in Abu Dhabi, and 26ºC in Dubai.

Marine conditions are expected to be calm, with slight seas in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, making it suitable for outdoor and coastal activities during the festive weekend.

What this means for you

  • No rain is expected on Diwali, so outdoor celebrations can proceed as planned.
  • Temperatures will be warm, with highs up to 38ºC, so light clothing is advisable.
  • Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally fresh, which may affect outdoor decorations.
  • Sea conditions will be calm, suitable for coastal activities during the festival.
