Al Ain Café Names Drink After Expat Employee Featured in Viral Video

A café in Al Ain has introduced a new beverage named after a 21-year-old Nepali expatriate employee who gained widespread attention on social media. The young woman became known after a video showed her courageously retrieving a fallen UAE flag during a thunderstorm and heavy rain.

The clip, recorded by a customer waiting in his car, quickly went viral, attracting thousands of likes and praise from both citizens and residents. Many commended her for demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty to the UAE, regardless of her nationality.

In an interview, the employee explained that she was unaware of being filmed at the time. She said she acted on instinct when she picked up the flag, feeling it was inappropriate for it to remain on the ground after being knocked down by the wind.

The café has also announced plans to share profits from the new drink named in her honor, highlighting the appreciation for her dedication and the positive response from the community.
