Dubai Motorcyclist Fined Dh4,000 and License Suspended After Crash

A motorcyclist in Dubai received a Dh4,000 fine and a three-month driving license suspension after losing control of his bike due to sudden swerving, resulting in a crash.

The Dubai Traffic Court held the Asian rider responsible for the accident after an investigation revealed that he abruptly swerved while riding, causing the motorcycle to overturn and sustain damage, particularly to its front and left side.

Authorities also discovered that the motorcycle's registration had expired in November 2025, and its mandatory insurance policy was no longer valid at the time of the accident, constituting two additional traffic violations.

According to official records, Dubai Police received a report of the motorcycle accident and dispatched a patrol to the scene. Officers found that the rider had lost control following a sudden deviation.

Police conducted an examination of the accident site and prepared a traffic sketch to reconstruct the incident. The investigation concluded that the rider's inattentiveness and sudden swerving were the primary causes of the crash.

During questioning, the rider admitted responsibility for the accident and acknowledged his driving error. He reiterated this admission in court and requested leniency.

The court based its verdict on the police report, the accident sketch, and the rider's confession. It ruled that the crash was caused by the rider's negligent driving rather than any external factors.

In addition to the Dh3,000 fine for causing damage to the motorcycle, the rider was fined Dh500 for operating a vehicle with expired registration and another Dh500 for driving without valid insurance. This brought the total fine to Dh4,000.

The court also ordered the suspension of the rider's driving license for three months, effective from the date the judgment becomes final. The court noted that it exercised leniency in determining the penalties.
